Mt. Mazama, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens
Rendered faithfully from old topo maps and photographic imagery with scale exaggerated for dramatic effect, these sculptures reference glamorization of Western landscapes and landforms of white settler colonialism established by f/64 photographers like Ed Weston and Ansel Adams. Revered prominences come to symbolize their respective regions, and human identities therein— whether said humans have traversed their terrains or summited their peaks IRL.
Commodification of landscape reigns.
